Fearful Wife

Fearful Wife short poem

Many days have gone by,

And in loneliness I lie.

On my bed, couch, or floor;

I always find I yearn for more.

The return of my husband who,

Has been gone with work to do.

A military man is he,

Fighting for us to be free.

But free from fear I am not;

For I know it takes just one shot.

But hope arises as the troops come home,

That I may write a cheerful poem.

A poem of love once more renewed.

One soul, now returns to two.

The joyfulness of loving tears,

And a peaceful rest to all my fears.

Loneliness inspires, or leads many to poetic musings. But hope of a coming love and bliss enlivens all.
