Thirst Of A Human Touch

Thirst Of A Human Touch short poem

I wandered in the woods –
No humans around.
No feelings , no worries, no cries and laughter,
Only the chirping of Birds,
Howling of Jackals, buzzing of Bees heard around.
The Trees were bouncing in the wind-
The cool breeze touched my face and body,
The leaves, shaken in the wind, fell on my head,
I felt happy,I enjoyed the time in the woods,
I am away from all the worries of the world.
I am safe here-I thought.
But still lacking something.
Lack of a human touch.

I was working as the head teacher of a high school for many years.I have written many poems in English, Urdu and Malayalam. But i never had the confidence to bring it to the public .Better to say, i never tried for it due to lack of confidence. Now i got a platform to bring myself forward. Thanks to the editorial board of high on poems.I enjoy reading and writing.

It seems that you were a high school teacher…blessed are the ones who studied under you…..under somebody who knows the magic and healing power of human touch.……

I really liked this but I felt the loneliness and the want to share the warmth of the woods with. A very enjoyable read.

I did enjoy reading your poem but have never felt the need for human touch when in touch with mother nature. The peace from worries she gives is just how your lovely poem portrays

Wonderful poem…..the human touch can do wonders as well as harm to not only nature but also to human,,,,,the nature you described so nicely when touched by a good human hand can make it bloom …but when touched by the greedy hand can destroy its beauty….

…i like the way you have phrased the events in nature ….”Trees Bouncing in the wind”….very imaginative …

please keep writing and sharing…

A beautiful poem. Yes man is a social animal. I liked the use of word touch instead of sight. In fact all our senses are touches. One may be blind, deaf or dumb but a touch he can feel.

A human touch or otherwise need of another human being is the supreme need. even paradise is a hell if there is no human companion.
