Haste prose poem

The tight schedules in the office frustrated him to quit the job in haste
Post retirement he fancied life to be a bed of roses with no Boss to make him walk on thorns
He did not bother what position he was in, what perks He was enjoying , what status He commanded
He only bothered how best He could escape from the clutches of his tyrannical Boss

The D -day did arrive when He was permitted to quit
He felt some heavy weight leaving his body and feeling very light
He thought He could enjoy his life unlimited, seeing umpteen places
eating at the cosiest restaurants, do things which He was craving to

With no work to scratch His head and time at His disposal to relish His plans
He stepped out of the house with zeal and happiness wandering aimlessly .
Days and months passed . Boredom gradually started setting in
A sort of vacuum got created and He was feeling as miserable as staying alone in a palace

He was facing difficulty spending time at home while He had no time to finish the work while in office
The accolades and the mental satisfaction of doing His work , He felt was worth the millions
Having the post retirement benefit of Millions of Rupees meant nothing to Him now
He had started realising that One should never go in search of rosy moments
rather One must make each and every moment of their existence rosy by being a Karma yogi

A Man can Rest in Peace only when he does not take Rest while He Lives

Nice poem sir…

Oh I did so enjoy reading your poem. I could feel a simularity but that was just my first 2 years into retirement. Then I thought I wanted to live a long life and I thought i was wasting time so have learnt
more things now than I ever learnt before in a busy hectic life. Now I stroll through life breathing it all in
and know I am lucky. But yes your poem truly brings it home how I felt at my new freedom.
