I Used To

I Used To short poem

I used to watch bonfires as the coloured fireworks glow
I used to paint Elephants, especially the nose
I used to play cars, but only on pavements, never the roads
I used to watch things going fast but now everything’s slow
I used to love winter running round in the snow
I used to watch rivers as I’d follow their flow
I used to watch elegance because elegance grows
I used to love you but where did you go
I used to love me but who am I; I don’t really know.

I am a poet through and through and anyone that tells you different you must deny it and slap them across the face very roughly indeed. I love the normal things in life and turning them into mysterious meaningful emotionally attached fascinating object or subjects.

I love this, it’s so lovely.

Sad poem Peter but it is true what we used to do never stops if we keep on doing.

It is called life! Nice one!

I loved your poem…we are as constant as time.

Great poem with a lot of meaning behind it…felt sad, like lost and not sure
where you went.
