Impressions. short poem

Almost towards the end,
near about the last bend,
who knew I would find another friend.
Too much rush and too much crowd,
who knew he would still stand out.
happy and cheerful,
indeed his presence was delightful.
although the meeting was of limited span,
I could foresee how far our friendship ran.
for impressions made are not deliberate,
it is but a work of fate.
