Sunset short poem

Oh how the sun played
peek-a-boo with my eyes,
as I walked down the path
betwixt the trees early one eve.
In the blink of my eye,
she peeped out, and winked,
giving me a taste
of her bright smile.
Mile after mile I walked
and whistled a tune
looking for a clearing
to get a full burst
of her warm glow.
Alas I was too late,
the clearing came as she
disappeared below,
leaving behind just a
hint of her warm glow.
I hoped for me.

I love writing and reading poems, not so much the classics these days but knew fresh stuff I find that exciting. New styles and new ideas. Some people paint, or write books or do crafts to get the inside out, me I do poetry and read the inside of folk I love to write fun and nature poems the best though.
