A Story About Me

A Story About Me prose poem

This is me.
What do I look like?
Well…I look a bit like this: Tall, slim, longish hair…
But what colour is my hair? Blond? Brown? Bubblegum pink?
And how does my story go?

Well…it goes something like this:
You see this girl here? The one with the brown hair? Yes, her. In a short while I am going to meet her. Whether I like it or not, our lives will become intertwined in some way or another.

But how?
How shall we meet? Will she transfer to my school and be allocated a seat next to me, leaving me to help her around?

No. That’s far too cliche.
How about, I save her from a band of misfits who want her money?

No, no, no, that’s even worse. Far too gung-ho.
I like the school setting, I’ll keep that. Maybe we’ve always been in the same school and we only just now meet proper. Yes, that sounds good.

But for what reason? Do we bump into each other in the corridor?
No, again that’s way too cliche…

How about we’re paired up for a class project?

Or perhaps we just so happen to sit next to each other on the bus, and we both end up very bored…
Yeah, that’s not too cliche.

But how will our story continue? Will we become best friends? Arch rivals? Will we have a grudging relationship? Will we save the world together? Will we…fall in love?

Though that also seems rather cliche.

But…maybe it’s good to have a little cliche on occasions.
Whatever happens though, I’ll be fine.
Because this is my story. And I decide how it ends.
This Is Me.

My muse is like an excitable dog. It catches sight of totally random things and starts yapping and running around and wagging its tail and WILL NOT STOP until I write a poem about it.My poetry is sometimes based on personal experience and sometimes on other things. Aside from that, I enjoy video games (My favourite game series is Mass Effect) and the popular television show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Wow I love the way it ends with the narrator stating it was his story and his choices. Amazing.
