The Exam

The Exam short poem

The voices, unheard
The image, unseen.
The crevasse that separates
The analysis from my mind.
It can’t reach me, as I cannot reach it myself.
But still I am told to reach
For the goal that I cannot see.
Before, others showed me the way, helped me cross over,
Now I am alone, lost.
I could jump, take a leap of faith,
But I would just fall to the bottom
Of that great segregating gorge.
There is no victory to be found here.

My muse is like an excitable dog. It catches sight of totally random things and starts yapping and running around and wagging its tail and WILL NOT STOP until I write a poem about it.My poetry is sometimes based on personal experience and sometimes on other things. Aside from that, I enjoy video games (My favourite game series is Mass Effect) and the popular television show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
