A Thankful Note

A Thankful Note short poem

It takes time to build trust
For one who with strangers can’t easily adjust
Reality is full of things unjust
Better to coat it with fantasy at the crust

We meet strangers through accidents
Some turn to memorable incidents
Thoughts of some put a smile on our face
While knowing some is always a disgrace

Now I know on earth all are different
Not all are as good as the “special magnificent”
People pretend to be someone they aren’t
Are tainted yet claim to be transparent

Special magnificent, lucky I’m for having met you
Not all are as trust-worthy as you
Thank you for being a friend to me
I’m grateful beyond what you could ever see.

Saying “hi”, “hello” is easy to whoever I see
Choice is theirs “to stay” or “to flee”
Learnt to accept things the way they are meant to be
Thank you for bringing out the best within me.
