Love Stays Young Forever

Astonished was I in the floral bower
Kenning a soothing scent so familiar
By then had I smelt each sightly flower
None but had a savor so spellbinding

Butterflies blissfully fluttered in the air
But one to the aromatic whiff flew away
Followed I back, but knew I not where
The fellow was escorting me in the bower

Made somebody’s bangles subtle melodies
The deepening aroma tantalized my mind
There then whispered a heavenly breeze
And my hair sheet-white merrily swayed

The redolent fragrance was then very near
The butterfly behind an immense oak hid
Seemed like the sweetest bloom of the year
Blossomed beneath the fecund tree so high

But as reached I finally the back of the tree
The vermilion butterfly on my nose landed
The canaries together chanted in deep glee
While desires shattered to pieces revived

The clouds as our eyes teared in happiness
Our souls so grey to the past jumped back
Proved our enticing love tale to be endless
The lost chapter of eternal love was found

We celebrated the rapture with hugs tender
Poems written for you in my heart played
Our trembling hands were grasped together
And teardrops of gaiety ran down our cheeks

Red roses like our souls danced in delight
Long-forgotten memories to life came back
The emotions of youth turned again bright
The skin wrinkled but our love stayed young

I was born in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. I started writing at the age of 11. I am a passionate poet and I use the power of my heart and my imaginations to write poems. I've been writing poetry for five years. I initially wrote free-verse poetry but I was inspired by William Wordsworth's poems and then I switched to rhythmic poetry. I am a poet of emotions and sentimentality. I embellish my thoughts and ideas by adding several metaphors, idioms, and similes. In 2013, I participated in an inter-school poetry competition in which I was awarded the first prize. I'm hoping to publish a book which compiles up all my poems, called ''Farhanite''. In my opinion, being a poet is like living in a world of dreams and inner visualizations, that you turn into words adorned by beautiful metaphors, similes, idioms, and rhymes. Poetry is a tool that completely changes your personality, your style, your ambitions, and in short, you.
