Cloud and flower

Cloud and flower short poem

Are you there
Are you real
Or just a cloud in the sky
Rains hard on me
Drenches my existence
With the aroma of romance
Fills my senses
Then disappears
With the wind and the weather

Are you a friend?
Not the fair-weather kind, I guess
Even when I cannot see
You cloud my thoughts dear
If I were a bird
I’d fly vast distances
Just to follow your antics
To see why you become obscure
Leaving imprints on my soul
As if you have stamped authority
On every birth and re-birth of mine

The sun, moon and stars
Are friends too
But they hide
With thunder when you come
Invoking fear in my bosom
And with you, you bring a gift
Of the rainbow sweet
But tell me, can I ever reach you
Hold you in an embrace
Or are you born to wander
My thirst to be quenched never
Why was I born a flower
And you a cloud?
