Rainbow

It was afternoon hot on summer mid
And the sky was blazing with unspeakable boiling,
But still was graced with pound of clouds
Which bore timid promises to overcome the summer damages.
Then it was coming of rain like an uplooking crane
Blowing the bugle of cooling joy over season’s waste.
When the rain was washing out the earth’s feet
When some unknown flowers were scenting afternoon joys
And pushed their presences in every doorstep,
A heavenly rainbow descended on the sky
With motley hues paying nature its aesthetic dues.
O branches of colours, guests from unknown field
Not perceptible and ethereal of princely built
Strode over vast azure, unchained,
Yet contained with pristine glorious gain
What Phoebus ordained in it with cloudy embrace.
Riding on zephyr’s pace, looking humid face
With stoical indifference, to sorrowful human state
Before bidding the sun a rosy farewell.
Wonder is thy birth in Aeolian palace
Nursed by dewy care with angelic bless, which
Enamoured us always till the dusk decreed your quite dissolution.

While out hiking high in the Cascade Mountain Range, with jagged mountain peaks acting as my back drop, I watch as I behold in the glory of Creation a rainbow being created after a gentle rain shower. An eagle appears

Beneath A Double Rainbow

Beneath A Double Rainbow short poem

High in the Cascade Mountain Range, camped in a wilderness cathedral. Overlooking a vast expanse of wilderness, only meters back from the edge of a sheer precipice. Admiring the shear beauty of a brilliant double rainbow, bridging this vast void.
