So It Ends

So It Ends short poem

So this is how.
I did always wonder
if, by the time it became a “now”,
the sky would tremble upon storm and thunder?

But the day is merely cold,
and the sky remains still
as the dreaded hour does unfold,
I lack the sorrow, I lack the thrill.

I figure this truly is the end,
for now it’s all over:
all the joy of being a rover,
all the dreams that I did lend

to you my lady, my dear.
You were my sweetest one, my pale beloved.
But in your absence now, I fear,
there’s no rolling of a tear
nor an ill spite to feel resolved

There is just emptiness,
the lonesome, gray clouds
forming in the astounding nothingness
of the loveless beast, and its’ thousand mouths.
